Hope

Hello again!  Here is my final card for the Hop to Stop Domestic Violence, which is being hosted by the lovely and talented Becca Cruger.  Today's card is another simple creation, and the stamp is one of many fabulous stamps from the set "All About Hope" from Unity Stamps.

According to Merriam-Webster, HOPE is defined as such: to cherish a desire with anticipation.  I cannot think of a better word to share with someone who has or is enduring domestic violence.  Typically, no person chooses to be in a relationship in which he/she will be harmed physically, emotionally and/or psychologically, and most people do not envision their child/children growing up in an unsafe environment.  Most of us enter into relationships and create families out of love.  Unfortunately, once the abuse becomes present, it is extremely difficult for the victim to leave.  Oftentimes, it takes many attempts before a person chooses to escape the destructive environment of domestic violence; and sadly, for some, they lose their lives in the process.  If you know someone who is experiencing domestic violence, please don't judge...help them find HOPE in what may seem to him/her a hopeless situation.  Love, support, guidance, patience, and understanding is what he/she needs.  If you need to talk with someone, call the 24/7 National Domestic Violence Helpline at 1-800-799-7233...the call is confidential and could help save a life--yours or someone you love.

I thank you for dropping by and visiting for a bit.  It truly does brighten my day!

Hugs and smiles!
Carolyn :)

I kept trying to capture the shimmer in the pictures.  Hopefully, you are able to see it in one of these pics.  Oh how this girl stinks at photography! ;)

Survivor!

Hello!  Just wanted to share another card I created for the Hop to Stop (Domestic Violence), which is being hosted by the kind and talented Becca Cruger.  It is an extremely simple card, but I believe the sentiment says it all.  Like the card I posted earlier today, the stamp featured is from the fabulous set by Tifany DeGough for Unity Stamps and is called "All About Hope".  This is a set every card maker should have in their arsenal of creativity!  It is incredibly versatile and filled with loads of lovely inspiration to support those loved ones going through personal struggles.

This hop is very near and dear to my heart as I am a survivor of domestic violence.  Generally, I do not speak of the negative aspects of my personal life; however, I felt compelled to share that there is light at the end of the tunnel.  You can get your power back!  For me, it was a journey.  I started out a woman who wondered, "Why can't I do anything right?"..."What is wrong with me?"...I was afraid of everything because I felt there was something wrong with me...I considered myself a failure.  Today, in spite of my struggles and doubt, I am better, stronger, wiser, and much happier.  Since my growth, I have helped change legislation in my home state.  I have met with various politicians, locally and nationally, to raise awareness for this cause.  I have even been on Oprah to help shed light on this dark subject that plagues homes across our nation.  I also earned my degree.  If any  one would have told me then what I would ultimately accomplish, I never would have believed them; yet, here I am.  For me, I thank God each and every day for giving me a second chance at life, and I pray that one day domestic violence will become obsolete and no other person will have to endure pain at the hands of someone they love.

Thanks so much for dropping by!  I hope you have a wonderful evening!!

The Hop to Stop!

As usual, I am late in my card making efforts, and this makes me incredibly sad.  It saddens me because the cards that will be featured on my blog today were created with a specific purpose in mind--to raise awareness of the damaging effects of domestic violence.  The month of October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month, and the color chosen to represent such an important month is purple.  You have probably seen a flurry of purple creations across the blogosphere to help spread the word.  Please, click on the photo below to visit Becca's blog and view all the heartfelt creations submitted by a plethora of amazing artists who support the needed awareness to a plague that infects many homes across our world.  If you feel inclined, link up your lovely purple creation.

For my card, I opted to keep it simple.  The featured stamp is one of many from the beautiful set, All About Hope, designed by Tifany DeGough for Unity Stamp Co.  I love all the butterflies!  Don't you?

Below, you will see a list of all the generous sponsors for the Hop to Stop domestic violence.  Please, stop by their company blogs and thank them for their kindness and support.  Have a wonderful day, and many thanks for dropping by!

Let's Go Swimming! :)

Rubber Stamp: Cutie Pie Mermaid from Fresh Brewed Designs
Howdy there crafty folks!  I hope your Wednesday is treating you well.  Things are still quite hectic in the Bounds household...our youngest son is in the midst of moving back home, so lots of reorganizing and shuffling stuff around to accommodate his belongings...medical appointments, both for him and me...my brother and my niece are visiting from Arizona...life is VERY FULL; and as cray-cray as things may seem, I am still finding my zen moments by creating. I'm sure many of you can relate.  Really...it is either that, or I will be the next YouTube sensation for doing cartwheels...in my pajamas...while singing "Let It Go"...at Wal-Mart.  Yes.  Quiet crafty moments it is, for all our sakes. ;)

Rubber Stamp: Cutie Pie Mermaid from Fresh Brewed Designs
Today, I am playing along with the lovely and talented ladies at Fresh Brewed Designs for their challenge- "Let's Go Swimming."  Like the last card I posted, I came across a darling, but sadly neglected rubber stamp...adorable Cutie Pie Mermaid.  I just love her!  She has that sweetness with just enough sassy to make her all the more adorable.  How did I let such cuteness go unloved for such a long time?!?  I am truly a bad stamp mommy!  If you find yourself loving her as much as I do, you may want to visit the Fresh Brewed Designs Store because there are only two of her left; and as I mentioned in my previous post, I do not think Heather will be replenishing her rubber stamps anytime soon...if ever.  Also, while you are there, browse around at the other rubber stamps and digis she has for sale...you may find more beauties and cuties to create with.  Plus, as an added incentive, all proceeds earned by the store will go to a wonderful, potentially life-saving, cause.  You can learn more about it and get all the details HERE.

Thank you so very much for dropping by for a visit.  I hope you found a bit of creative inspiration while you were here.  Furthermore, I encourage you to please stop by the Fresh Brewed Designs Store or the Digis for Debbie Fundraiser Shop.  Your purchase would be greatly appreciated as all proceeds from both stores will go to Mrs. Debbie to assist her with medical and aftercare expenses.  Once again, thank you for visiting and for sharing a part of your day with me!!

Life's a Beach!

(Rubber stamp: #700 Cordelia in Sand)

Hello!  I hope your Monday has been treating you well.  Things have been a bit hectic in the Bounds household, but all should be back to some sort of normalcy soon (; fingers and toes crossed ;)...I'm sure everyone can relate.  Still, I was able to sneak in a bit of time to create, which always leaves me feeling more relaxed. :)

(Rubber stamp: #700 Cordelia in Sand)

I recently came across a much neglected and somewhat sad Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamp...pretty Miss Cordelia Mermaid.  If you like her as much as I do, you may want to pop on over to the Fresh Brewed Designs Store because there are only two of her left, and I do not think Heather will be replenishing her rubber stamps.  While you are there, have a look around...you may find more loveliness you are itching to create with...I usually do.  Plus, as an added incentive, all proceeds earned by the store will go to a wonderful cause.  You can read more about it HERE

Lately, the beach has been calling my name, so I decided to create with Little Miss Lovely...and I must say...I think she was happy to finally get inky too. ;)  She was colored with Prismacolor markers, and the extra shimmer was painted on using DecoArt Ice Crystal Glamour Dust Glitter Paint, which I need to get more of VERY soon.  It is one of my go-to favorites and a total must-have!! The sentiment is from a retired Sweet N' Sassy stamp set, and the dies are from MFT.  Considering that I had no idea where this card was going when I sat down to create, I am rather happy with the way it turned out.

I will be entering Miss Cordelia into the following FABULOUS challenges:

I'd Pick You!

Good morning!  I hope your day is off to a wonderful start! :)  Once again, today's card features one of the many fabulous images and inspirational sentiments from the Fundraiser Digi Set created by my dear friend, Heather Dennis of Fresh Brewed Designs.  If you would like to see cards created with other images from this lovely set, you can have a look at this post or stop by the Digis for Debbie Fundraiser Blog Hop and have a look at the many wonderful creations in the linky list HERE.

^^Above,^^ you can see a small sample of all the beautiful images and sentiments.  Can you believe this entire set, which features six images and nine sentiments, is only $5?  If you are wondering why it is called the Fresh Brewed Designs Fundraiser Set, it is because this set, along with all the images in the Digis for Debbie Fundraiser Shop and the Fresh Brewed Designs Store, is being sold to help Heather's mother, Mrs. Debbie Lynch, with her medical expenses.  A few weeks ago, Mrs. Debbie was informed that she has a rare form of uterine cancer, and she is currently preparing herself for this lifesaving surgery and all that follows. For those of you who have been down this challenging road, you know the emotional roller coaster it creates for the the individual and the family members.  So please, keep Mrs. Debbie and her family in your prayers during this very difficult time.

"Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it." ~John 14:13-14

I will be entering this card in the following inspirational challenges:
Thank you so very much for popping by for a visit.  I hope you will be returning to share in this creative journey with me.  Don't forget, there is an Anything Goes Challenge at the Fresh Brewed Designs Blog, and it closes on Tuesday, July 28th.  There are prizes to be earned by visiting and commenting on the first 23 blogs on the link list and for participating in the challenge.  Don't forget to read the challenge requirements prior to submission.  I do know, we very much look forward to admiring your creations.  Have an AMAZING day!!

Fresh Brewed Designs Fundraiser Set (6 lovely images & 9 inspirational sentiments) for $5

Yesterday was the beginning of an incredibly important fundraising event/blog hop, which can be found HERE.  The purpose of this blog hop and the beautiful digi set ^^above^^ is to assist Heather's amazing mother, Debbie Lynch, with her costly medical expenses.  Recently, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and all funds raised through the Digis for Debbie Fundraiser Shop and the Fresh Brewed Design Store will go directly to Mrs. Debbie.  We would love to have you drop by either store and have a look around.  If you happen to see something you like, we would love for you to add your creation to the link list found HERE and show us the lovelies you create.

Digis for Debbie Fundraiser Blog Hop

http://freshbreweddesigns.blogspot.com/2015/07/digis-for-debbie-fundraiser-blog-hop.html

Good morning and welcome to the Digis for DebbieFundraiser Blog Hop.  Recently, we learned that Mrs. Debbie Lynch, the beautiful and loving mother of HeatherDennis, owner of Fresh Brewed Designs, was diagnosed with a rare form of uterine cancer (uterine papillary serous carcinoma).  As most of you may know, cancer related medical costs can be quite expensive, and Mrs. Debbie currently has no medical insurance, which makes the cost significantly higher.  Therefore, we have decided to help raise enough money to cover these medical expenses, as well as aftercare expenses, by creating a digi shop.  ALL the proceeds of the Digis for Debbie Fundraiser Shop and the Fresh Brewed Designs Store will go directly to Mrs. Debbie to fund her lifesaving surgery and the aftercare necessary to bring her back to wellness.  Furthermore, Heather has created a Give Forward account to assist her mother.  If you would like to help, please stop by the Digis for Debbie Fundraiser Shop, the Fresh Brewed Designs Store, and/or the Give Forward Account.  For those of you who are not able to contribute monetarily, we would love for you to add Mrs. Debbie to your prayer list.  If there is one thing we know, prayers can work miracles that money cannot and healing and wellness is what we are praying to receive.

Check out this amazing set created by Heather!  It contains six fabulous images with nine beautiful sentiments that can be used alone or could be paired with any one of these lovely images.  All of these lovelies are only $5!  You can find this awesome set HERE; and remember, ALL proceeds will go to Mrs. Debbie to assist with her medical expenses.

The hop launches today, Tuesday, July 14th on the Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge Blog, and will run until Tuesday, July 28th @ 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time.

All participants can be found in the linkies section of THIS POST on the Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge Blog, and we would love to have you join us!  We do ask that you use a digi from the Digis for Debbie Fundraiser Shop or the Fresh Brewed Designs Store, and the theme is Anything Goes, and you can enter as often as you would like.  Two prize packages will be awarded, one prize for a digi purchaser and one prize for a blog hop participant.  Winners will be chosen on Saturday, August 1st.  The prizes will consist of stamps, papers, ribbon, embellishments, etc.; plus, some random prizes will be offered by some generous blog hop participants along the hop.

For my card, I chose to use the image "Say Cheese" from the Digis for Debbie Fundraiser Shop.  I can recall many family photos in which the "rabbit ears" were shared, and opted to create a card using a fabulous Polaroid-esque die.  Since it was purchased from a gently used crafty group on Facebook, I hate to say it...but I do not know who makes it.  However, I do know that I love it!  I colored the image with Prismacolor markers and used some wonderful MFT Die-Namics (Blueprints 8 and large scallop border <--discontinued), which were also purchased gently used.  To finish it off, I added some ribbon, sparkly heart stickers, and Thickers.  A rather simple card, but I am happy with the way it turned out.  The only negative...my printer was running low on black ink, so the streaks are rather noticeable.  Sorry for that.

I do THANK YOU for dropping by and for helping us with our fundraising efforts; and again, we ask that you keep Mrs. Debbie in your prayers.  Have a wonderful Tuesday, crafty friends!  Please, join us!  We look forward to admiring your creations! :)

Blessings, Smiles, and Hugs!
