A Punny Thank You :)

Ship Happens by Joslyn Nielson from Unity Stamp Co.
Hello and a happy Friday to you.  We finally have sunshine; therefore, my demeanor is more pleasant (certain my family appreciates that).  With that being said, I wanted to create a card that reflects this lightheartedness and incorporates my type of humor.  Once again, I chose to use a set from Unity.  It is called Ship Happens, and I love, love, love it!

Confession: Unity stamps have quickly become my crafting obsession.  What I love most is the personal interaction they have with their customers AND their extremely reasonable prices.  Currently, I am out of work due to illness...that means money is super tight.  Still, I can browse their site and find things that fit with my very limited budget.  Awesome sauce!!!  It is always nice to be able to have new rubbah that does not break the bank, that is totally made in the USA, and that supports American workers.  Whoever said quality American products are too expensive must not be familiar with Unity Stamp Co.

Above, you can see the wonderful sentiment.  Hahaha!!  Don't you just love it?  I certainly do!  Anyhoo, I am going to enter this in the Friends with Flair Challenge at Unity and play along with other fans who appreciate the goodness of Unity Stamp Co.  I hope everyone has a fun and relaxing weekend, and if you feel the urge to acquire new rubber...head over to Unity...they are having a 60% off sale (only applies to those items that are not currently on sale)...and if you like the set I used today, it is 60% off.  Have a great one!  See you soon!

You are Beautiful!

"Faceless Beauty" by Angie Blom at Unity Stamp Co.
Who else is ready for bright sunshine, warm weather, and gazing upon a field of flowers?  I know I have been ready for quite some time.  Since I cannot do much to change the weather, I can change my outlook on this icky weather predicament by creating a bright, cheery card.

Today's card features the beautiful stamp set "Faceless Beauty" by Angie Blom at Unity Stamp Co.  I absolutely love this image (: thanks a bunch Kelly :)...especially since it brings to mind- SUMMERTIME.  Originally, I had a shaker card in mind, but since I have been out of the crafting loop for awhile certain supplies are limited...such as fun foam.  I thought I could improvise by using some dimensional tape; unfortunately, the sides were equally as tacky as the top and bottom...of course this made all my sequins and micro-beads stick to the sides of the frame (not a pretty sight).  Oh well, I tried.  Now, fun foam has been added to my list of things to get.  Still, I kept the transparency in place...I kinda liked the portrait look it gave the image.

Isn't the sentiment absolutely lovely?  I think so...and the perfect way to let an amazing friend know just how beautiful she is inside and out.

Want to know another beautiful thing about this stamp set?  It is only $6.99...plus, Unity is currently having an awesome sale and you know what that means...even more savings! Here's hoping you have a wonderful evening!  Thanks a bunch for popping by. :)

Winter Bliss?

Christine Girl by Angie Blom from Unity Stamps
Angie Blom's Christine Girl from Unity Stamp Co. looks rather blissful in the snow; however, this girl (i.e., ME) is more than ready for winter to be OVER...and I don't even live in an area where winter is/was at its worst.  Still, I l-o-v-e the image (which was gifted to me by my crafty gal, Kelly) and decided to create two wintery cards with her as the focal point.

I am not much for coloring...strange considering I once enjoyed it...suppose it could have something to do with the limited amount of free time I have these days, and I am really not very good at it.  Also, primo coloring requires much practice and a great deal of patience, and I am much too hyper to sit or stand in one place for too long to hone any worthwhile coloring skills...as for patience, it is most definitely not one of my virtues...not even close.

Both cards were kept fairly simple...not much fuss...although, I did get a bit crazy with the sequins and stickles...not only on the card front, but the interior too.  What can I say...I love sparkle!  I also love the interior sentiment..."Good friends are like snowflakes all different and all beautiful."  How very true! :)  With that being said, I plan on sending these two cards to some special ladies in my life...hoping to bring a bit of cheer into their cold, winter days.  Since the talented designers at Crafty Catz are hosting a "For a Special Lady" challenge theme, I think I will play along with them. :)

To my surprise, both cards came together rather quickly...could be the benefit of  the cold, winter weather...preventing the typical distractions...by not tempting me or luring me away to the wonderful outdoors.  Oh, how I long for warm weather and SUNSHINE!!

Well, that is about it for me.  Thanks for popping by.  Sure hope you have a warm, wonderful evening!

Happy smiles!

Unity Stamp set: Love Is

As usual, I am getting a challenge card posted at the very last minute.  Yes, I know...guilty of being a procrastinating crafter.  Oh well!  Better late than never right?

I have been absent from the paper crafting community for quite some time, but thanks to some incredibly encouraging friends, I have found my way back to it...and I have fallen in love with this craft all over again.  Thank you Carmen, Kelly, and Grace for reigniting my joy for paper, markers, stamps, etc... I love you ladies!!!

Since I have rediscovered this craft, I have also found a new love... I have become OBSESSED with Unity Stamps!  I have been wanting to play with my fresh, new batch of red rubbah, but health and time constraints have not been cooperating with my creativity.  Fortunately, I found some time to whip something up for the Unity {be inspired} Challenge.  I chose to create a card with a few of the inspirational colors in their beautiful color palette.  I love the various shades of purple; however, I realized I did not have much in my stash.  Luckily, I was able to scrounge up a few pieces of card stock from my scraps...but that did not leave me much to play with.  So, I went to Lowe's and picked up a few paint swatches...problem resolved. :)  Once I had the swatches, the card came together easily.

I look forward to the upcoming Unity Challenge and plan to get something done sooner rather than later.  Have a wonderful evening!!  Thanks so much for dropping by. :)
