Hello, hello, hello, and a very happy Tuesday to you.π If I haven't said this before, THANK YOU for being here. I know blogs are no longer all the rage, but I enjoy having this space to share additional details about the things I create. Also, the most important thing to me is that I have met some amazing people through blogging. Don't get me wrong, I also enjoy Instagram, but there is something about blogging that I love...in a world that seems to lack connection, I feel more connected here than on any other "social" platform. Okay. Enough blabbing...let's get to today's cards...
...squirrel-like interruptionπ π don't you just love her call sign or crafty name?...every time I here it, Paul Simon goes buzzing through my head, and I find myself humming this fun tune throughout the day π π back to the original train of thought...
As I was saying earlier, Call Me {Crafty} Al designs a SheetLoad of Cards, and she provides the sketch, the dimensions, the number of papers you will need, AND a step-by-step video of her creative process as she creates the cards. Additionally, if you subscribe to her YouTube channel, you will be provided with a FREE download, so you can recreate the cards without having to pause the video to get all the info as your creating. In other words, she does all the brain work and provides all the inspiration for the benefit of her viewers. I know she has helped me immensely. When life takes unexpected turns and depression sets in, it can be extremely difficult to feel creative...it totally π₯zapsπ₯ your inventiveness and artistic mojo...therefore, having someone like {Crafty} Al to give you that nudge by doing all the creative heavy-lifting, it makes creating much easier. Plus, by making something that could potentially lift another person's spirits, could boost your spirits as well. That's how it works for me. It becomes cathartic.π
Today's cards feature this month's π April 2021π SheetLoad of cards, and I really love the design. Don't you? Unlike last month, I pretty much followed the sketch to the T.
If you follow her suggestive guidelines, you will come out with ten wonderful cards to share with the people you love. For my cards, I used the beautiful I Am Mom papers from Echo Park Paper Co. Since I love the pattern on both sides of the paper, I opted to make five cards showcasing each side. If you find the papers as pretty as I do, please stop by Scrapbooking for Less...you can get two sheets for $1.20....sixty cents a sheet! I don't know about you, but I consider that a D-E-A-L. Moreover, you will be supporting a small business, which is something I always prefer over the big box stores.
Like {Crafty} Al, I also used the stamp set from Simon Says Stampπ Just Miss You...for the card interior...and the Sending Smiles die for the card front. Just an FYI, the stamp set...which was originally $24.99, is currently on sale for $9.99, and it is a fabulous set. Not only can it be used on cards, but it can spruce up your envelopes as well.
I also dusted off my Stitched Strip die from My Favorite Things. Since I purchased it from someone who previously loved the die, I have no idea when it came out, but I believe it has been discontinued for quite some time. Sorry. If you like it, maybe you will be able to find it on a "previously loved" site like I did.
Well, that's about it. I hope you will play along in this month's SheetLoad of Cards and subscribe to Crafty Al's YouTube channel to get the FREE download and to receive a jumpstart to your creativity. As always, THANK YOU for dropping by. π
These are awesome!! Love them!!!
